Eric Hollingsworth Killed in Fiery Head-On Crash on Highway 69 in Angelina County

Eric Hollingsworth Killed in Angelina County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 69 near FM 1818

Angelina County, Texas (August 4, 2020) – According to Texas DPS, a person was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Angelina County.

The fatal crash happened around 8:30 a.m., August 3, on Highway 69 South, about one mile south of FM 1818. 

According to a preliminary investigation, Eric Hollingsworth, 33, of Colmesneil, was driving a 2000 Ford pickup southbound on the highway when he crossed over into the northbound lane and crashed head-on into a 2017 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer.

The Ford caught fire after the collision.

Hollingsworth was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Peterbilt truck was uninjured in the crash.

The crash closed Highway 69 South.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
