Fernando Davalos Killed, 6 Injured in Truck Accident on SH 285 in Brooks County

Fernando Davalos ID’d as Driver Killed in Brooks County Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 285
Brooks County, Texas (May 4, 2019) – The driver who was killed Tuesday evening in a multi-vehicle crash that left six other people injured in Brooks County has been identified as Fernando Davalos, according to the authorities.
The fatal crash happened at about 5:00 p.m. April 30, on State Highway 285.
Authorities said a 2007 Freightliner semi-truck, a 2019 Kenworth truck, a 2006 Kia Sedona, and a 2017 Ford F-150 were stopped in a construction zone along the highway. Davalos, who was driving the 2019 Kenworth semi-truck, was unable to control the speed and crashed into the pickup truck. The impact pushed the truck off the roadway, resulting in a chain reaction collision.
Davalos was pronounced deceased at the scene.
One other person was airlifted to Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline. Three others were taken to Christus Spohn Hospital in Alice. Two other victims were taken to Christus Spohn Hospital in Kingsville.
The authorities are investigating the crash.
