El Paso, Texas (February 18, 2020) – An El Paso firefighter was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident Wednesday morning in El Paso, according to the police.

The crash was reported around 7:30 a.m. February 12, on Transmountain Road (Loop 375) at the Resler Exit.

Police said El Paso firefighter Armando Lopez was part of a team that had responded to a crash when he was struck by an SUV or pickup truck.

The vehicle fled the scene after the accident.

Lopez was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but in stable condition.

The authorities are looking for the suspect.

The vehicle might have windshield damage.
