10-Year-Old Girl Killed in West Bexar County Bicycle Accident on Ranch View East and Rim Rock Valley

West Bexar County, Texas (February 20, 2020) – A 10-year-old girl, who was riding a bike, was hit and killed by a car Thursday morning in far West Bexar County, according to the deputies.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. at Ranch View East and Rim Rock Valley in the Valley Ranch neighborhood.

Deputies said the girl was riding her bike on the sidewalk when she lost control and veered into oncoming traffic. She was then hit by an SUV.

The girl, who was a 5th-grade student at Kallison Elementary School, was taken to University Hospital, where she later died. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The SUV driver remained at the scene and was cooperative.

An investigation is underway.
