Gloria Valdez ID’d as Woman Killed in Lubbock Bicycle Crash at Avenue Q and 26th Street
Lubbock, Texas (May 16, 2019) – The woman who was killed Tuesday night in a hit-and-run accident in Lubbock has been identified as Gloria Valdez, 52, according to the Lubbock Police Department.
The deadly crash occurred just after 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 14 near Avenue Q and 26th Street.
Police said Valdez was riding a bicycle on the roadway when she and her dog were struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.
Valdez sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The dog was also killed in the accident.
As of Wednesday morning, authorities located the suspect’s vehicle, a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, in a local Motel 6 parking lot.
The crash remains under investigation.
