Injuries Sustained in Austin Car Accident on Loop 1 and Mopac Boulevard

Austin, Texas (August 18, 2019) – Injuries were sustained in a multi-vehicle crash that occurred in Austin Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The accident took place at about 12:45 p.m. Friday, August 16 on Loop 1 and Mopac Blvd, near 35th Street and Camp Mabry.

According to the authorities, four vehicles collided in the southbound lanes for a reason still under investigation.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to the parties involved. The patients were then taken to local hospitals.

Areas near 35th Street and Camp Mabry were closed while the investigation and cleanup took place.

Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes until the lanes reopened.

The crash remains under investigation by the police.
