Jaelyn “JaeRene” Chapman Killed, Four Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Westpark Tollway at Dunvale

Houston, Texas (April 9, 2021) – A woman was killed, and four others, including the suspect, were injured early Wednesday morning in a wrong-way crash in Houston, according to the deputies.

The fatal crash happened around 2:00 a.m., April 7, on the Westpark Tollway at Dunvale.

Deputies said Bobby James Brown, 32, was driving a gray Infiniti the wrong way on the tollway when he crashed head-on into a Honda at Dunvale.

A passenger in the Honda, Jaelyn “JaeRene” Chapman, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other passengers in the Honda were taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The Honda driver was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Brown also sustained injuries in the crash. He has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes of the tollway for several hours but have since been reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
