Hudspeth County, Texas (June 13, 2020) – A man was killed, and three other people were injured Thursday morning in a head-on collision in Hudspeth County, according to state troopers.

The fatal crash occurred just after 9:00 a.m. June 11, on U.S. Highway 62/180 near milepost 54.

DPS said a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck towing a semi-trailer was heading westbound on the highway while Pedro Thomas, 19, was driving a 2001 Nissan Altima eastbound.

The vehicles then collided head-on in the westbound lanes of the highway.

Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene.

The occupants of the GMC, Javier Eduardo, 48; Javier Eduaro, Jr., 18; and Jose L., 35, all from El Paso, were taken to El Paso hospitals for treatment.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.

We hope Javier Eduardo, Javier Eduaro, Jr., and Jose L., recover quickly.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws, or statues which were violated.
