Jonothan Darden and Matthew Clamon Injured in Polk County Three-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 190

Polk County, Texas (June 4, 2020) – Two drivers were injured Wednesday morning in a fiery three-vehicle crash in Polk County, according to troopers.

The crash happened shortly after 11:00 a.m. June 3, on U.S. Highway 190, near the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation.

Troopers said Jonothan Darden, 25, of Call, was driving a Hatch’s Wrecker Service rollback wrecker westbound on the highway when he clipped the trailer of an eastbound 18-wheeler driven by Jason Campbell, 33, of Winona. Darden then crashed head-on into a large commercial truck that was stopped on the eastbound shoulder of the highway.

The wrecker and the stopped commercial truck caught fire after the crash.

Darden and the driver of the stopped commercial truck, Matthew Clamon, 30, of Livingston, were able to climb out of their vehicles and were taken to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Campbell was uninjured in the crash.

Witnesses said Darden was driving erratically before the crash. He is facing a citation for driving on the wrong side of the road while not passing.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope Jonothan Darden and Matthew Clamon recover quickly.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
