Mitchell Pitman Dies Week After Motorcycle Crash on Alpine Road at South Congress Avenue in Austin

Mitchell Pitman Killed in South Austin Motorcycle Crash at Alpine Road and South Congress Avenue 

Austin, Texas (July 16, 2021) – According to the police, the motorcyclist who was injured last month in a crash in South Austin has died.

Mitchell Lesley Pitman, 51, died on Tuesday, July 6.

The crash happened around 3:20 p.m., June 26, at the intersection of South Congress Avenue and Alpine Road, just south of St. Edward University.

Police said a gray 2021 Jeep Gladiator made a left turn on Alpine Road and hit Pitman, who was riding a motorcycle in the left lane of South Congress Avenue.

Pitman was taken to St. David’s South Austin Hospital, where he later died on the evening of July 6.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to call using the Crime Stoppers tip line at 512-472-8477 (TIPS).
