One Killed in Southwest Travis County Car Crash on Highway 290 near Tara Lane
Travis County, Texas (January 23, 2019) – A man was killed in a traffic collision Tuesday morning on a southwest Travis County highway, according to a local news release.
The crash occurred at an unspecified time on Tuesday, January 22, on Highway 290 near the Tara Lane, just west of Y in Oak Hill.
DPS said the man merged into oncoming traffic, side-swiped a car and then collided head-on with a truck hauling a trailer.
Emergency crews had to extricate the man from his car. He was transported to South Austin Medical Center where he later died.
No further details were provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
