Grimes County, Texas (February 16, 2022) – An elderly man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a train crash in Grimes County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash occurred on February 15, in the area of Farm-to-Market 39 and County Road 169.

Authorities said Charles McDuffie, 77, of Iola, was driving a farm tractor when he failed to yield the right of way to a BNSF train, and the tractor was struck by the train.

McDuffie was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were provided.

An investigation is underway.
