Joshua Odum ID’d as Victim of Upshur County Crash on U.S. 80 near Gladewater
Upshur County, Texas (March 5, 2019) – The person who was killed Saturday afternoon in a two-car accident in Upshur County has been identified as Joshua Lee James Odum, 18, of Big Sandy, according to the Texas Department Public Safety.
The tragic wreck happened at an unknown time Saturday, March 2 on U.S. 80, approximately one mile west of Gladewater.
The DPS said Cody Lindley, 34, of Mineola, was driving his vehicle eastbound on U.S. 80 when he hit another vehicle driven by Odum, which was legally parked on the eastbound shoulder of the roadway.
Odum had stopped and was standing at his mailbox at the time of the accident.
Odum was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
No other injuries were reported.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
