KaLiyah Harris Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on West Montgomery Road

Houston, Texas (October 16, 2021) – A 6-year-old girl was hit and killed by a vehicle Wednesday evening shortly after she had gotten off a school bus in northwest Houston, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just before 5:00 p.m., October 13, in the 9600 block of West Montgomery Road.

Police said the girl had just been dropped off by the school bus at Garden City Apartment Complex and was crossing the street, heading home, when she was struck by a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. She has been identified as KaLiyah Harris, a first-grader at Anderson Academy in Aldine ISD.

GoFundMe has been created to help pay for funeral expenses.

The Chevrolet driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. He was not impaired at the time of the accident.

The HPD is investigating the crash.
