Keeymo Martin Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 63 in Newton County

Keeymo Martin Injured in Newton County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 63 near County Road 1395

Newton County, Texas (December 19, 2021) – One person was injured Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Newton County, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened shortly after 11:00 a.m., December 18, on Highway 63 near County Road 1395, west of Burkeville.

DPS said a 2016 GMC SUV was traveling westbound while a 2008 Chevrolet pickup pulling a trailer was traveling eastbound.

The SUV failed to yield to the pickup truck while attempting to make a left turn into a driveway, and the truck hit the SUV.

The SUV driver, 45-year-old Keeymo Martin, of Port Arthur, was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The pickup truck driver, 23-year-old James Jones, and his passenger, 20-year-old Ray Robert, both of Louisiana, were uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
