Kyle Steward Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 385 in Ector County

Kyle Steward ID’d as Man Killed in Ector County Crash on U.S. 385

Ector County, Texas (October 6, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the man who was killed in a traffic crash Thursday morning in Ector County.

Kyle Wayne Steward, 35, of Horsehoe Bay, died in the crash that took place on U.S. 385 on Thursday, October 5.

DPS said Steward was driving his vehicle northbound on U.S. 385 when he failed to control his speed and rear-ended a car driven by Daphny Nicole Torres, 28, who was also the same way.

Steward was not wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details regarding the crash were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
