Falls City, Texas (March 22, 2023) – The person who died following a three-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon in Falls City has been identified as Karnes County Human Resource Manager Lacy L. Pruski, 39.

The fatal crash happened at around 12:14 p.m. Saturday, March 18, on U.S. 181 and involved three vehicles.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, a 57-year-old Refugio man was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck southeast on U.S. 181 in wet conditions when his vehicle hydroplaned and veered into the opposing lane.

The Silverado then hit a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe that was traveling northwest on the highway in the inside lane, driven by Pruski. A 2014 Chevrolet Suburban that was following the Silverado attempted evasive action but was not successful.

Pruski was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the Silverado was taken to University Hospital in unknown condition. The driver of the Suburban, a 44-year-old Beeville man, and his passengers were treated at the scene.

DPS is investigating the incident.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
