Luismauricio Ortiz ID’d as Driver Killed in Richardson Crash at Centennial Boulevard and South Greenville Avenue

Richardson, Texas(December 3, 2022) – The driver who died after a police chase ended in a traffic accident late Wednesday night at an intersection in Richardson has been identified as Luismauricio Ortiz, 25.

The crash was reported at around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, November 30 at the intersection of Centennial Boulevard and South Greenville Avenue.

Richardson police said Ortiz was attempting to escape police. He was driving a Dodge Challenger westbound on Centennial Boulevard when he ran a red light and hit a pickup truck that was heading southbound on Greenville Avenue.

Ortiz was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. His two passengers and one occupant of the pickup truck were also hospitalized but they are all expected to recover.

No other details regarding the crash were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
