Caitlin Wood Injured in DWI Crash on SH 103 in Lufkin; Leland Ramsey Arrested

Caitlin Wood Injured in Lufkin Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 103; Leland Ramsey Arrested

Lufkin, Texas – One person was injured Tuesday night in a DWI crash in Lufkin, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m., January 30, in the 5000 block of State Highway 103.

DPS said Caitlin Wood, 19, of Henderson, was driving a Honda passenger car eastbound on the highway and was being followed by a Chevrolet pickup driven by Leland Ramsey, of Lufkin.

Ramsey failed to control his speed and rear-ended the Honda.

Wood was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ramsey was arrested on Wednesday, January 31, on the felony charge of intoxicated assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury and released the same day on a $10,000 bond.

The crash remains under investigation.
