14-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on Amber Street

San Antonio, Texas (January 1, 2021) – A 14-year-old girl was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash on New Year’s Day in San Antonio’s South Side, according to police.

The accident happened shortly after midnight, in the 1100 block of W. Amber Street.

Police said the girl was lighting fireworks on the street when she was struck by a pickup truck driven by a man.

The driver attempted to flee the scene but was chased down by other people from the party. They managed to stop him, and he was stabbed.

The girl was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The driver was also taken to the hospital and was arrested.

An investigation is underway.
