Woman Injured in Head-On Crash on De Zavala Road in San Antonio

Woman Hospitalized after San Antonio Crash on De Zavala Road near Vance Jackson Road

San Antonio, Texas (June 24, 2022) – A woman, believed to be in her 30s, was hospitalized following a head-on crash late Thursday night in San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The collision happened at about 11:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, in the 5200 block of De Zavala Road, which is near Vance Jackson Road and Interstate 10.

Police said the woman was driving on De Zavala Road when, for an unknown reason, her black sedan collided head-on with a white Dodge Charger that was in a turning lane.

The woman driving the sedan was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover.

The 18-year-old driver of the Charger exited the vehicle after the crash and then fled the scene on foot. The driver later returned to the scene.

According to the police, DUI is suspected to have played a role in the incident.

The crash is under investigation.
