Vanessa Moreno Killed in Car Crash on IH-2 in Mercedes

Vanessa Moreno Killed in Mercedes Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate Highway 2

Mercedes, Texas – A woman was killed Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Mercedes, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 4:36 p.m., December 15, on the Interstate Highway 2 westbound.

DPS said a Ford Focus, occupied by two women and a Dodge Ram, driven by a man, collided on the interstate.

The Ford driver was transported to Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen in critical condition. The passenger of the Ford, Vanessa Villarreal Moreno, 41, of Harlingen, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were provided.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
