Man Struck, Killed by 18-Wheeler on Hwy 114 in Denton County

35-Year-Old Man Killed in Denton County Pedestrian Accident on Highway 114

Denton County, Texas (September 3, 2023) – A 35-year-old man was killed Thursday morning in a pedestrian accident in Denton County, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident happened around 5:40 a.m., August 31, on westbound Highway 114 near the Wise and Denton county line.

According to the report, the man was driving his sedan westbound on the highway when he rear-ended an 18-wheeler. After the crash, the man got out of his sedan and ran across the westbound lanes, where he was struck by a passing 18-wheeler.

The sedan driver, a 35-year-old man from Justin, was killed in the crash. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the initial crash.

The crash closed the westbound lanes of the highway.

The crash remains under investigation.
