Man, Woman Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on I-45

Houston, Texas (September 18, 2020) – Two people were injured in a wrong-way crash Friday morning in Houston, according to police.

The crash happened on Interstate 45 at the Downtown Aquarium parking lot.

Police said a 56-year-old woman was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of the interstate when she crashed head-on into an 18-wheeler driven by a 65-year-old man.

The impact caused the 18-wheeler, which was hauling charcoal and household goods, to fall about 30 feet below onto the parking lot.

The woman and the man were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The crash closed the southbound lanes of the freeway. The lanes were reopened just after 7:00 a.m.

An investigation is underway.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
