Lubbock Police Officer Among 4 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 50th Street and University Avenue

Four Injured in Lubbock Multi-Vehicle Crash on 50th Street and University Avenue

Lubbock, Texas (May 10, 2017) – A police officer and three civilians were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon in Lubbock.
The collision occurred on 50th Street and University Avenue at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 8.
The authorities said an LPD pickup truck, a civilian pickup truck, a school bus and an SUV were involved.
The LPD vehicle was responding to a call with its lights and sirens on when it was hit by the civilian pickup truck at the intersection. The impact pushed the LPD truck into a stopped SUV and the SUV in turn hit a school bus.
The bus was carrying six students and none of them was hurt
The police officer in the LPD truck was transported to a hospital with moderate injuries.
Three other people were treated for minor injuries.
The collision is under investigation.
