Man Struck, Injured by Freight Train near W. Summit and Blanco Road in San Antonio

Man Critically Injured in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident near W. Summit and Blanco Road

San Antonio, Texas (April 15, 2022) – A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a freight train Thursday morning in San Antonio, police said.

The crash was reported shortly before 7: 00 a.m. on April 14 near the intersection of W. Summit and Blanco Road.

The train conductor told the authorities that he saw the man standing on the tracks near W. Summit and Blanco Road.

The conductor attempted to brake but was unable to stop in time. The train struck the man, who was later found track front of the train, which had stopped about 150 yards down the tracks.

The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition. His name was not immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
