Carlos Palma Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on I-20 near Monahans

Carlos Palma Killed in Monahans Car Accident on Interstate 20

Monahans, Texas (February 25, 2021) – Two men were killed Tuesday evening in a wrong-way crash, three miles east of Monahans, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash was reported around 7:17 p.m., February 23, on Interstate 20.

According to a preliminary investigation, a Jeep Nitro was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the interstate when it collided with a Honda Accord.

A Ford pickup truck attempted to avoid the crash and rolled over. Another Ford pickup struck the debris from the first crash.

The Nitro driver, Jerry Roberts of Monahans, and the Honda driver, Carlos Palma of Roswell, N.M., were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
