Man Hurt in Corpus Christi Crash on Laredo Street and 17th Street

Corpus Christi, Texas (March 3, 2019) – A man was struck and injured by a vehicle in Corpus Christi late Friday night, police said.
The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. March 1, in the area of Laredo Street and 17th Street.
Police said a man was standing along the road and seemed to be yelling at another person on the other side of the street. He then stepped into the roadway and was hit by a pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup left the scene but later contacted the authorities to turn himself in.
The victim was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
Police have not released the identity of the victim.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
