Marla Isaias-Chavez ID’d as Teen Killed in West Odessa Crash at 64th Street and Moss Avenue
Ector County, Texas (February 8, 2019) – The teen who was killed earlier this month in a traffic accident that also injured several other people in West Odessa has been identified as Marla Isaias-Chavez, 17, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The deadly wreck was reported at about 1:20 p.m. Sunday, February 3 at the intersection of 64th Street and Moss Avenue.
The DPS said the operator of a Chevrolet pickup ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a Dodge Charger driven by Isaias-Chavez.
Isaias-Chavez was taken to Medical Center Hospital and was later declared deceased at the hospital. Jovan Flores, who was a passenger in the Charger, was also taken to MCH with non-incapacitating injuries.
The Driver of the pickup, Gabriel Briseno-Campa of Chihuahua, Mexico and a passenger, Diego Garibay, of Odessa, sustained non-incapacitating injuries and were also transported to MCH.
No other details regarding the crash were immediately provided.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
