Monte Large ID’d as Man Killed in Anderson County Pedestrian Crash on US 79

Anderson County, Texas (January 17, 2019) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Anderson County on Tuesday night has been identified by the authorities.
The crash happened at about 8 p.m. January 16 on US Highway 79 South, approximately five miles southwest of Palestine.
DPS said Frankston man Monte Ray Large, 66, was trying to cross the roadway from the south when he was hit by a vehicle driven northeast on US Highway 79 South by James Marcus Stone, 24, of Jacksonville.
Large was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
