Morgan Palmour, James Palmour and Jose Sanchez Hospitalized after Tom Green County Crash on U.S. Highway 87 near San Angelo

Tom Green County, Texas (July 20, 2023) – Morgan Lashea Palmour, 26, James Palmour, 23, and Jose Sanchez, 58, all of San Angelo, were injured in a Monday afternoon traffic crash that left a two-year-old girl dead in Tom Green County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the tragic accident took place on U.S. Highway 87, about 9 miles north of San Angelo on Monday, July 17.

DPS said Morgan Palmour was driving an SUV southbound on U.S. Highway 87 and James Palmour was also riding a motorcycle southbound. Both were in the right lane, with the SUV following the motorcycle at slow speeds.

Sanchez was also driving an semi-truck southbound on U.S. Highway 87 in the right lane. Sanchez reportedly failed to control his speed and struck the SUV.

The impact caused the SUV to hit the motorcycle.After the collision, all three vehicles rolled over and came to rest on the shoulder of the highway.

The 2-year-old girl was not secured in the SUV and was declared dead at the scene. A 4-year-old girl in the SUV was also not secured and was transported to Shannon Medical Center.

Morgan Palmour and James Palmour were taken to Shannon Medical Center with non-capacitating injuries.

DPS is investigating the crash.
