Matthew Cy Jackson Killed and Rodolfo Garcia Injured in Hale County Truck Crash on FM 179 at CR 195

Hale County, Texas (November 25, 2021) – One person was killed, and another was injured Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Hale County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 11:41 a.m., November 24, in the area of FM 179 and County Road 195.

DPS said Rodolfo Garcia,65, was driving a truck tractor pulling a dump trailer southbound on FM 179, while Matthew Cy Jackson,40, was driving a truck tractor towing a semi-trailer directly behind.

Garcia attempted to turn left onto CR 195 as Jackson attempted to pass. Garcia’s truck then crashed into Jackson’s truck.

The impact caused Jackson’s truck to roll over.

Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Garcia was taken to Covenant Plainview for treatment.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
