Officers Nathan Weaver and Aaron Taylor Injured in Port Arthur Two-Vehicle Crash at Turtle Creek Drive and Anchor Drive

Port Arthur, Texas (August 3, 2022) – Two Port Arthur police officers were injured Friday evening after their vehicle was struck by an intoxicated driver in Port Arthur, according to the DPS.

The crash happened around 8:45 p.m., July 29, at the intersection of Turtle Creek Drive and Anchor Drive.

DPS said a PAPD 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling eastbound on Turtle Creek Drive while a 2018 Cadillac SUV was traveling southbound on Anchor Drive.

The Cadillac disregarded the stop sign and struck the Chevrolet.

The two officers in the Chevrolet, Nathan Weaver and Aaron Taylor were taken to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas for treatment.

The Cadillac driver, Gloria Roy, 71, of Groves, was arrested Friday night and charged with driving while intoxicated. Her bond was set at $2,000, and she bonded out several hours later.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
