Dhakota Hinojosa Injured in Fatal Crash on South Highway 176 in Martin County

Dhakota Hinojosa Hospitalized after Martin County Fatal Crash on South Highway 176

Martin County, Texas (May 20, 2022) – Dhakota Schamme Hinojosa, 22, of Stanton, was injured after being involved in a deadly crash Monday evening in Martin County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash happened shortly before 5:00 p.m. on May 16 on South Highway 176.

DPS said Michele August, 63, of Midland, was driving a truck westbound on South Highway 176 when she veered into the opposite lane and collided with an eastbound truck, driven by Hinojosa.

August and Hinojosa were transported to the Martin County Hospital, where August later died. Hinojosa was treated and released from the hospital.

No further details about the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
