One Killed, Four Injured in Four-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 80 near Elmo

1 Killed and Four Injured in Elmo Four-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 80 at FM 2728

Elmo, Texas (February 21, 2020) – One person was killed, and four others were injured in a four-vehicle crash Thursday morning near Elmo, according to the DPS.

The crash was reported around 5:39 a.m., February 20, on U.S. Highway 80 at FM 2728.

DPS said a grey Nissan Frontier was traveling eastbound on the highway when it crossed into the westbound lanes and hit a maroon Ford F-150 and a Black Mazda passenger vehicle.

A westbound black Buick also hit the Mazda.

The driver of the Frontier was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ford driver and his passenger were taken to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas with non-life threatening injuries.

The Buick driver was taken to Baylor, Scott & White, in Sunnyvale with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Mazda was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas with non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
