One Person Killed in Del Valle Pedestrian Accident on Highway 71 near Cheviot Lane

Del Valle, Texas (September 7, 2023) – A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle on a highway in Del Valle on Wednesday night, authorities said.

The deadly crash happened at about 9:12 p.m. on September 6 on the westbound lanes of Highway 71 near Cheviot Lane just west of Highway 973.

Medical personnel responded to the scene and performed CPR on the adult patient. Despite life-saving measures, the victim did not survive their injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

No further details about the crash were available.

The crash remains under investigation.
