Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run on Bastrop Highway in Austin

One Killed in Austin Pedestrian Accident on Bastrop Highway at Montopolis Drive

Austin, Texas (December 20, 2022) – According to the police, a pedestrian was killed early Friday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Austin.

The deadly accident happened around 2:40 a.m., December 16, at the intersection of Bastrop Highway service road and Montopolis Drive.

Police said a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection.

The driver fled the scene after the accident.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone with any information is urged to call the Austin Police Department at (512) 974-TIPS. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
