Rafeal Aldaco Injured in Car Crash on Hwy 96 in Call Junction

Call Junction, Texas – One person was injured early Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in the Call Junction area, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened just before 6:00 a.m., on Highway 96 near County Road 588, just south of Kirbyville.

DPS said 50-year-old Rafeal Aldaco, of Jasper, was driving a 2005 Dodge Neon southbound when his small car was rear-ended by a 2019 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck driven by 70-year-old Eliso Guerrero, of Houston.

Aldaco was rescued from his car and was taken to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with non-life-threatening injuries.

Guerro, who was uninjured in the crash, was cited for Failure to Control Speed.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
