Two Killed in Harris County Two-Vehicle Crash on Beltway 8

Harris County, Texas (April 2, 2021) – According to deputies, two people were killed early Friday morning in a fiery traffic accident in Harris County.

The fatal crash happened just after 4:00 a.m., in the northbound lanes of Beltway 8 near Clay Road.

Deputies said a driver was speeding when they flew by a deputy with no lights on. The deputy attempted to stop the speeding driver, but they sped away and crashed into another vehicle.

One of the involved vehicles was an older, dark red Ford pickup truck.

The force of the impact caused a fire and split one of the vehicles into two.

The speeding driver and the other driver were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.

The crash closed the northbound and southbound frontage roads of Beltway 8 at Clay.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
