Woman Checking Flat Tire Killed in Hit-and-Run on I-610 in Meyerland

Woman Killed in Meyerland Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 610 at South Post Oak

Meyerland, Texas (September 25, 2021) – According to the police, a woman was killed early Friday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Meyerland.

The deadly accident happened just before 3:30 a.m., September 24, in the southbound lanes of Interstate 610 West Loop at South Post Oak.

Police said the woman was standing outside her white Dodge Charger on the right shoulder of the interstate and was checking a flat tire, when she was struck by a vehicle.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The driver who hit the victim fled the scene after the accident.

The accident closed all southbound lanes on South Post Oak Boulevard at Interstate 610.

Motorists were urged to seek alternate routes.

The crash remains under investigation.
