Driver Critically Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35 in Troy

Man Seriously Injured in Troy Car Crash on Interstate 35 between Troy and Bruceville-Eddy
Troy, Texas (March 19, 2019) – A driver was seriously injured early Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Troy, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported.
The wreck happened at about 4:00 a.m. Monday, March 18 on Interstate 35 near mile marker 314 between Troy and Bruceville-Eddy.
According to the DPS, an SUV was traveling in the right lane of northbound Interstate 35 when for an unknown reason the driver drifted left into the concrete barrier on the left shoulder and disabled the SUV in the left lane of traffic.
The DPS said a concerned driver parked their car on the right shoulder of the roadway, put the car’s emergency flashers on and called 911. An approaching driver of a GMC tractor-trailer saw the motorist on the side of the road and switched lanes to the left, then hit the disabled Chevrolet.
The driver of the SUV sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple. The name of the patient and their condition were not immediately disclosed.
No other injuries were reported.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
