San Antonio, Texas (November 11, 2020) – A San Antonio family was injured Friday evening after a stolen truck crashed into their vehicle during a multi-county police chase that ended in a crash in San Antonio, according to authorities.

The crash happened around 6:03 p.m., November 6, near IH-10 and Loop 1604.

Deputies said at about 5:25 p.m., the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office got a call about a red Ford F-250 that had just been stolen from a convenience store along IH-10 near FM 775.

The truck was spotted by the patrol deputies in the City of Marion, and they attempted to stop it, but the driver refused to stop, and a chase began.

The chase lasted about twenty minutes. Once the pursuing deputies crossed county lines, they notified Bexar County law enforcement, who sent deputies to assist with the chase.

The chase ended when the truck crashed into multiple vehicles, including a Nissan Titan pickup truck.

Tom and Priscilla Garcia, both 32, and their baby, Max, who is two-month-old, were in the Nissan at the time of the crash.

Tom and Priscilla were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center.

Priscilla is in the ICU. She has a fractured spine, fractured ribs, and lacerations.

Max was taken to University Hospital, and he is in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition. He has severe swelling in his brain, hemorrhaging, a broken jaw, and a broken collar bone.

He has been charged with Evading Arrest or Detention Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Reckless Driving, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, plus five counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

We hope Tom, Priscilla Garcia, and Max recover quickly.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice.
