Richard Harris, Eugenio Perez Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on FM 45 in San Saba County

Richard Harris and Eugenio Perez ID’d as 2 Victims of Fatal San Saba County Crash on FM 45 near FM 2995

San Saba County, Texas (January 28, 2023) – The two people who died on Friday evening following a crash involving two pick-up trucks in San Saba County have been identified as Richard Blair Harris, 65, of Brownwood,and Eugenio Botello Perez, 52, of San Saba.

The deadly crash happened at about 4:06 p.m. Friday, January 27, on FM 45, approximately half a mile south of FM 2995.

Authorities said Perez was driving a 2001 Chevrolet pick-up truck southbound on FM 45 when he failed to maintain his lane and crossed into northbound traffic.

The Chevrolet then collided with a 2018 Dodge Ram pick-up truck that was being northbound on FM 45 driven by Harris.

Both Harris and Perez were pronounced dead on the scene.

A 23-year-old male passenger who was inside Harris’ Dodge Ram sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was treated on the scene.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
