Two Metro Officers Hospitalized after Midtown Crash at Smith and Elgin

Midtown, Texas (December 26, 2019) – Two Metro police officers were injured in a traffic collision early Thursday morning in Midtown, according to the police.

The crash occurred at about 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of Smith and Elgin.

Police said a Metro police SUV collided with a small Nissan at the intersection.

Both officers in the SUV were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The Nissan driver was given a field sobriety test and then taken into custody.

The crash remains under investigation.
