Two Injured in Crash Involving TxDOT Vehicle on US 287 in Potter County

Two Injured in Potter County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 287

Potter County, Texas (July 28, 2020) – Two people were injured Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash involving a TxDOT vehicle in Potter County, according to DPS.

The crash happened on July 27, on US 287.

According to a preliminary investigation, a Texas Department of Transportation vehicle was heading northbound and was about to turn left into the crossover while a Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling northbound in the inside lane behind the TxDOT vehicle.

The Dodge driver veered into the left turning lane and rear-ended the TxDOT vehicle.

The Dodge driver was airlifted to Northwest Texas Hospital in serious but stable condition.

The driver of the TxDOT vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Northbound traffic was closed on the Canadian River Bridge.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
