Teenager Killed and Three Injured in Nacogdoches Two-Vehicle Crash on Main Street

Nacogdoches, Texas (November 1, 2023) – A teenager was killed and three other people were injured Monday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Nacogdoches, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 7:10 p.m., October 30, in the 4500 block of E. Main Street near Quail Ridge Road.

Police said a Dodge 1500 was traveling eastbound when it slowed down, tried to turn left onto Quail Ridge Road and was rear-ended by a Ford F-250 pulling a trailer loaded with another vehicle.

The force of the impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway.

The Ford driver, a man, was uninjured in the crash.

An adult female driver and a juvenile in the left rear passenger seat of the Dodge were treated and released at the hospital. A 13-year-old in the front passenger seat of the Dodge was transported to a local hospital but was sadly pronounced dead. A juvenile in the right rear seat of the Dodge was airlifted to a Tyler hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality. At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.
