Travis Deputy Injured in Del Valle Pedestrian Accident on FM 812

Del Valle, Texas (June 19, 2020) – A Travis County sheriff’s deputy was injured last week Friday in a hit-and-run crash in southeast Travis County, according to authorities.

The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. on June 12, in the 13400 block of FM 812 near Circuit of the Americas.

Deputies said the deputy was working at the scene of an earlier crash when he was hit by a vehicle.

The impact threw the deputy onto the hood of the car, and he fell onto the ground. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

The driver who hit the deputy fled the scene after the accident. The authorities are looking for him, and he has been described as a man in his late 20s or early 30s.

A woman was also sitting in the front passenger seat of the suspect vehicle, which has been described as an Infiniti sedan that could have damage to the hood and driver’s side door.

An investigation is underway. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call 512-854-1444, or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477.

We wish the injured victim a quick recovery.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws, or statues which were violated.
