Valdemar Lorenzo-Rodriguez, Armando Lorenzo-Rodriguez and Alejandra Flores Killed in Laredo Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 83 and Lomas del Sur Boulevard

Laredo, Texas (November 17, 2021) – Three people were killed Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash in south Laredo, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 11:00 p.m., November 13, at the intersection of U.S. 83 and Lomas del Sur Boulevard.

Police said a DPS trooper had attempted to pull over a black Nissan SUV for a traffic violation, but the driver failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued.

The Nissan continued traveling northbound on U.S. 83, and it ran a red light at the intersection and struck a westbound red Dodge SUV.

Two passengers in the Nissan, Valdemar Lorenzo-Rodriguez, 30, and Armando Lorenzo-Rodriguez, 45, both from Honduras, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third passenger in the Nissan was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Dodge driver, Alejandra Torres Flores, 62, of Laredo, was also killed in the crash. An adult and three children in the Dodge were taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The Nissan driver, Abraham Ahumada Jr., 23, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of evading arrest causing death, smuggling of persons with serious bodily injury or death, accident involving serious bodily injury, evading arrest with a vehicle with previous conviction, accident involving death and manslaughter.

 An investigation is ongoing.
