Virgil Warren Killed in Taylor County Two-Vehicle Crash on I-20

Taylor County, Texas (May 13, 2021) – A man was killed Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Taylor County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on May 12, on Interstate 20, 1.4 miles east of Trent.

DPS said Kelley Rasberry of Trent, was driving a pickup truck eastbound on the I-20 service road while Virgil P. Warren, 59, of Merkel, was driving westbound.

Rasberry tried to merge onto the entrance ramp while Warren continued driving westbound on the service road. Both drivers swerved southbound, and the vehicles collided.

Warren was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rasberry was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, where she was treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
