Two Injured in Hockley County Two-Vehicle Crash at FM 1585 and Chickadee Road

Hockley County, Texas (December 4, 2022) – Two people were injured Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Hockley County, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash was reported around 11:00 a.m., December 3, at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1585 and Chickadee Road in the Arnett community.

DPS said a semi-truck pulled out in front of a pickup truck that was pulling a trailer, resulting in a collision.

The semi-truck driver was ejected and was airlifted to Covenant Medical Center with serious injuries.

The pickup truck driver sustained minor injuries but refused transportation by ambulance. They were later taken by private vehicle by a family member to a local hospital.

The crash closed FM 1585 between FM 3261 and FM 2646.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
